Requirements for any applicant crew leader or laborer

• Valid drivers license - necessary for ALL positions.  
• Legally eligible to work in the united stats status - prefer permanent residents of Virginia.
• Physically healthy and able to lift and carry 80lbs for long periods of time.
• Have reliable transportation every single day.
• Strong moral compass and desire to improve our community.
• 6 months minimum experience working for lawn or similar company.
• Must reside within 30 minutes of any of our locations.

Requirements for Crew Leaders

• Must meet or exceed all basic requirements as above.
• 3 years experience working for a professional landscape organization.
• Must be able to confidantely use smartphone, tablet.
• Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record.
• Must have a registered technician license.  
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish is preferred, but not required. English is required.

Landscape Equipment Mechanic

Weekly Schedule: 6 am – 3pm (Monday –Friday) with on-call responsibilities

Job Summary

Bloom is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic mechanic for our Yorktown, VA location. The ideal candidate should have a minimum three (3) years of experience in a professional small equipment environment. This is to include strong working knowledge of commercial mowers and 2- cycle equipment repair. The ideal candidate will also have strong organizational abilities and prioritizing skills, and have a large selection of hand, air and diagnostic tools that line up with the desired experience.

As described, the job includes a diverse set of responsibilities and when filled by the ideal candidate will provide opportunity for continued growth and advancement within the organization's fleet structure.

The Landscape Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for all aspects of troubleshooting, repair and maintenance service of a wide range of equipment and vehicles that is needed to perform all landscape functions.

Production

• Troubleshoot equipment accurately and repair breakdowns quickly to maintain operating efficiency
• Proven abilities in a wide range of technical skills in repairing all landscaping and construction equipment with 2-cylce engines and 4-cycle engines and other small engines including but not limited to: Mowers Blowers Weed Eaters Tractors Skid Steers
• Perform oil changes, air filter changes, belt replacements and inspect all safety devices of equipment
• Perform off site repairs
• Pick up of parts from vendors
• Assist in maintaining service records for all equipment
• Maintain and organize parts as needed
• Assure that all parts go through company inventory
• Maintain Shop area, yard, and building
• Communicates with managers internally as needed in order to insure crews have proper equipment to perform task
• Insure OSHA and other regulations are followed for all equipment
• Assist Company in seasonal services provided to customers

Required Skills

• Must have a high school diploma or GED with three (3) years experience in related field
• Must have a valid VA Driver’s license and maintain a good driving record (CDL preferred)
• Must submit to a reference and criminal background check
• Must have good communication skills and ability to motivate others
• Must comply with Bloom Lawn & Landscaping Company, Inc. policies and procedures
• Must practice safety with chemicals and all equipment
• Must wear company - provided uniforms and use personal protective equipment as needed
• Must be able to pass a Criminal Background check

Required Experience

Three (3) years’ experience in related field.
